Phelps County Projected Release Dates
A projected or sentence-calculation date is not the same as the time a person walks out. Missouri DOC's historical Sunshine file uses the exact labels “Sentence Maximum Release Date” and “Sentence-I Minimum Release Date.” The maximum date relates to the sentence endpoint represented in the data. The minimum date concerns the minimum component on that sentence row. Neither label promises a physical release on that day.
One person can have several charges, causes, or sentence rows. Concurrent and consecutive terms can change how the dates work together. A detainer can also keep the person in custody after one sentence reaches a date. The public MODOC landing page is CAPTCHA-gated and does not document a field literally called “projected release date” or “tentative release date.” Exact labels should be preserved when a result is viewed.
Pretrial custody works differently. A person awaiting case action has no set sentence release date. Bond, dismissal, a release order, a plea, sentencing, or another hold may change the path. The Phelps County court docket can explain the legal event, while Phelps County Jail confirms actual processing.
Find a Phelps County Release Date
The correct lookup begins with custody type. The county jail does not use the state prison calculator for a local term. MODOC does not maintain the gate record for an ordinary county bond-out. Federal and immigration systems are separate again. Follow the name of the current or last known custodian before reading any date.
- Identify whether the person is in Phelps County Jail, a Missouri DOC institution, federal custody, immigration custody, or no longer shown.
- For a local case, review Case.net for bond, judgment, sentence, jail credit, warrant, or commitment entries.
- Ask Phelps County Jail or the Sheriff's records custodian for the calculation and actual release record tied to the booking.
- For a state prisoner, search the MODOC active-offender portal, then ask the institutional caseworker about the current sentence calculation.
- For a fully discharged former offender, use MODOC Sunshine history and request the individual record. The active portal excludes discharged offenders.
- Confirm the event with the final custodian. A court date, eligibility date, or alert alone is not the physical release log.
The Phelps County Circuit Clerk can help locate the local court record at 573-458-6210. The Sheriff can be reached at 573-426-3860 for the county custody layer. For a state record, MODOC lists OD.SunshineRequest@doc.mo.gov; Parole Board record requests use ParoleBoard.SunshineRequest@doc.mo.gov.
Note: A transfer date means departure from one custodian, not release from all custody.
Phelps County DOC Release Fields
MODOC's historical data can help when the active search no longer returns a discharged person. The file is a research lead, not a certified individual record. DOC disclaims completeness and accuracy, and multiple sentence rows must be reconciled before drawing a conclusion.
| Field group | What it can show | Reading limit |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | Permanent DOC ID, name, birth date, race, and sex | Use the DOC ID to reduce same-name errors |
| Assignment | Assigned place and whether it is an institution or field office | A field assignment indicates active supervision, not final discharge |
| Case and sentence | Cause number, offense county, offense, sentence date, length, and completion indicator | One person may have several rows |
| Date calculation | Sentence Maximum Release Date and Sentence-I Minimum Release Date | Neither is guaranteed physical release |
| Supervision | Probation date, type, and term | Post-release supervision is distinct from prison confinement |
The MODOC Sunshine page is the formal history and records fallback. The captured page below shows that official route.
When exact discharge matters, request the named person's record and specify whether the needed event is prison release, release to supervision, or final discharge.
Phelps County Conditional Release Calculation
RSMo 558.011 divides eligible non-dangerous felony term sentences into prison and conditional-release portions. For a term of nine years or less, the conditional-release portion is one-third. For more than nine through fifteen years, it is three years. For more than fifteen years, it is five years. The prison term is the remainder.
Conditional release is supervised conditional discharge under the Parole Board. It is not final sentence expiration. Dangerous felonies and a fourth or later DOC remand are outside that structure. The Board may extend a conditional-release date up to the full sentence after the statute's misconduct petition and hearing process. Simple arithmetic cannot account for every exclusion, sentence row, court change, or Board action.
The official conditional-release statute is shown below.
The statute supplies the framework, but the institutional caseworker's record supplies the calculation for a named prisoner.
Phelps County Minimum Prison Terms
The phrase “eighty-five percent” does not apply to every Missouri sentence. Under RSMo 558.019, a dangerous felony generally requires eighty-five percent of the court sentence, or reaching age seventy after serving at least forty percent, under the researched current rule. For listed applicable non-dangerous felonies, prior prison commitments can trigger a forty percent minimum for one prior commitment, fifty percent for two, and eighty percent for three or more.
Offense lists, definitions, exceptions, and age alternatives matter. The statute treats life as thirty years and aggregate terms above seventy-five years as seventy-five for its calculations. Most important, a minimum prison term marks eligibility for parole, conditional release, or another early DOC release. Eligibility does not force the Board to release the person.
The minimum-term statute appears in the captured official source below.
Use the sentence, offense, and commitment history from the actual case. A percentage pulled from one rule is not a release-date calculator.
Note: Parole eligibility and a scheduled gate date answer different questions.
Phelps County Release Date Changes
A date can move even after a sentence record has been calculated. Some changes affect the sentence itself. Others do not change the sentence endpoint but prevent the person from entering the community. The custodian must separate those two effects.
| Factor | Possible effect | Source to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Concurrent or consecutive sentences | Changes how several terms combine | Judgment and DOC sentence calculation |
| Jail credit or amended judgment | Changes credited time or the controlling term | Court docket and caseworker |
| Appeal or later court order | Can alter or pause the sentence path | Court record |
| Disciplinary extension | Can extend conditional release through the statutory process | DOC and Board record |
| Detainer or hold | Can cause transfer or continued custody after one date | Releasing and receiving agencies |
| Parole decision | Can set a future release date or a later hearing | Parole Board record |
| Data correction | Can change a portal or file date without a new court event | MODOC records response |
A practical date should be checked against every active sentence and hold. The actual release record then states whether the person entered the community or was transferred.
Phelps County Jail Sentence Dates
No official Phelps County jail good-time formula or weekend advance-release policy was found. Do not apply the DOC conditional-release or minimum-term framework to a county sentence. Start with the court judgment and any jail-credit entry, then ask the jail or court how the actual local date was calculated.
The Sheriff's handbook does address after-hours and weekend release-account processing. An ordinary-release debit card processed outside business hours or on a weekend is handled at 10:00 a.m. on the next business day, and the former inmate returns to the Sheriff's Department for it. That is a money-handling rule. It is not proof that a sentence date moves to Friday or another weekday.
A current roster miss does not prove release either. The person may have been transferred to DOC, another county, BOP, or ICE. The Sheriff's release or transfer record is the direct Phelps County evidence, while the receiving system answers what happened next.
Phelps County Date Confirmation Channels
Phelps County release-date research produces a channel chain rather than one universal calculator. For a county detainee, the live roster can show only whether the person appears in current custody when checked. Case.net can show the bond, dismissal, judgment, sentence, jail credit, warrant, or commitment that may authorize a change. The Sheriff's booking and release record is still the primary evidence of the exact county departure time and recorded release type.
For a Missouri prisoner, the active MODOC search applies while the person is incarcerated or remains on probation, parole, or conditional release. A field assignment after prison supports ongoing supervision, not final discharge. If all DOC jurisdiction has ended, the public active search excludes the person. The Sunshine historical file and a targeted DOC response then supply the record route. Review all cause and sentence rows before treating a minimum or maximum date as the whole history.
Notifications are separate from records. Local jail and court-event registrations continue through MOVANS/VINELink by SMS or email after Missouri's May 2026 system change. DOC release and custody notification moved to the MODOC Office of Victim Services. An alert can prompt a check, but it does not replace the county or state release record. If a Phelps detainee transferred, follow the receiving authority instead of calling the transfer a community release.
- County community release
- Use the Sheriff record for processing time and release type, with the court docket for legal context.
- State prison release
- Use MODOC sentence records, the institutional caseworker, and the Parole Board where parole controls.
- Federal custody
- Use the BOP locator and federal records. A county booking does not create a federal release date.
- Immigration custody
- Use ICE ODLS for qualifying current or recent custody and contact ICE when a result is inconclusive.
A BOP past release date confirms departure from BOP custody, not freedom from all jurisdictions. ICE ODLS can cover current custody and some releases in the preceding sixty days, but that window must not be described as a Phelps County release list. Each system answers only its own custody layer.
Phelps County Post-Release Credit
Missouri earned compliance credit is often confused with prison good time. It applies after release to eligible community supervision. Under RSMo 217.703, a full compliant calendar month can earn thirty days toward supervision discharge. Credit does not accrue during custody, a violation month, suspension, or absconder status, and exclusions apply.
The credit concerns final discharge from supervision, not the day a person leaves prison. It should never be added to or subtracted from a gate-date estimate. The supervising officer is the source for a named calculation. The official MODOC early-discharge page reinforces that post-release distinction.
Readers comparing prison release with supervision discharge can use the Phelps County post-release supervision page for the local field-office route and active-status limits.
